CIO Vendor Our economy is fast expanding and businesses are eager to go beyond the Top 15-20 cities; urban areas. However, finding the right talent pool and training them in remote locations is not easy. When talking about going beyond the urban areas justexpanding accessibility is not enough. There are various challenges to account for such as culture, language, scale of the workforce, and geography.

Business organizations, today, face major challenges such as'scale','the deskless workforce','changing scope of roles’. Successfully training their employees and bringing productivity to the business in a dynamic and expansive environment is a puzzle which organizations are solving. Learning solutions have to rise to the challenge and fast.

The problems of information overload (quantity of information accessible) and noise(lack of relevant information)are rising with each byte of information being uploaded to the world wide web.Learning has to be relevant. Making learning engaging and customer centric is essential to see the fruits from learning investments.

John Cherian, Co-founder and Executive Director of Enparadigm, a technology driven learning company has this to say about delivering effective solutions at scale,“It is important to go beyond creating a solution for mere accessibility of information for learners, and focus on the goal of the organization, the individual needs of learners. What helps them perform better on the ground? What can we help them with that they currently do not have? This should guide all solutioning and delivery.”

Enparadigm was recognized among the fastest growing tech companies in APAC as part of the Deloitte Tech Fast 500 APAC 2018 program. While their technology helps them address the problem of scale successfully the company recently delivered a program for the frontline workforce of one of India’s leading insurance companies. John says that developing effective
learning technology is more than just‘digitization’, “We have to go beyond just transferring all our content from a bygone era to a mobile app or an LMS. Solutions have to account for the changes in culture and mindset that technology has brought about. We have been at the forefront of this shift. We have designed just in time learning solutions. It was built with on the ground research and a thorough understanding of all types of stakeholders. The solution has helped 100,000+ professionals across 500+ towns in India have intelligent conversations with their customers and enhance productivity.”

Looking Ahead
The information overload issue will only get worse but some industry experts believe that AI can help solve the problem. Filtering and delivering relevant content in a personalized way is the next problem AI will solve in learning. John agrees with this point of view, “Personalizing content to a salesperson in places like Rewa or Bagalokot and delivering that content in vernacular languages is going to be key. We have been at the forefront of solving this challenge. AI has started to play a big role in taking the next steps, and will only get bigger and better.”

Organizations are flocking to mobile apps and other technology driven solutions. Enparadigm’s success has an important lesson. Technology is only a tool and leveraging it effectively comes from on the ground expertise and industry knowledge. While there is a long way to go,the bar has been raised. Organizations investing in learning solutions have to dig a little deeper and understand the value that vendors can bring to the table in order to help them solve the challenge.
